Why to choose us ?

Tired of the conflict of interests between traditional media and their owners, we joined each other in Cuestión Pública to create an independent digital media that could fill the void in the country of digital investigative journalism. We do face the power, we focus the light on their abuses and we expose the corruption. We assume the risks that it implies, but we know that from some sector of journalism someone has to carry out this social labor.
Additionally, we are the owners of our newsroom and our journalism is not for sale, nor is it a manipulation favorable to those in power. We are an investigation unit in service to the citizens.
We believe in gender equality, two of our partners are women, and our commitment is that it will always be at least 50% women in our newsroom.
Furthermore, contrary to most websites, we do not sell advertising, with the purpose that you can have the best experience with CP.

What is the crowdfunding for?

The Cuestión Pública team requests your help to collect $27 million COP. With this resource, we will start the investigation of the ministerial cabinet of President Ivan Duque. It is you who will choose, through a survey, which of the 16 ministers will be investigated first. As it is the Cuestión Pública style, we want you to also take part of this and to choose the title of this special feature report. This is another reason of why we´ll be consulting you.

Why do we want to investigate this?

In Cuestión Pública we consider that it is very important that the citizens know the assets and interests of the ministers of the government, because this fosters the improvement of the transparence of the executive power and, in turn, it strengthens the relationship of the citizens with the government. By exposing abuses of power and conflicts of interest of these functionaries, the citizens construct their own criteria and become spontaneous overseers of the exercise of democracy. It is also possible to monitor the political path of these ministers, for the moment they seek popular elected posts, or they get engaged in swivel doors.
We will ask the ministers for their income and property declarations through freedom of information requests, in order to analyze the evolution of their assets before and during their posts. This is one first step in which we want to dig and consult to those investigated.
